About Community Bicycle Rides
Community Bicycle Rides (CBR's) started in 2005 as the training rides for the MS Bike Ride and, like that famous bunny, just kept going. Today, we offer training rides for a range of Treasure Valley charity bicycling events ranging from 1-day outings to 7-day treks.

Whether this is your first charity ride, your first shot at a century, or you're a cycling veteran looking for someone to train with, Community Bicycle Rides is here for you. Our training rides are hosted, no-drop, and last 2-3 hours. A hosted ride means that each ride has a designated route and ride leader. Our no-drop philosophy means you don't get left behind when things go wrong. We stop as a group and work as a team to get you going again. And each group has a designated sweeper to make sure no one is left behind.

The terrain is mostly rolling hills and flats. The pace ranges from 10 - 18 MPH. Each training ride offers short course and long course options. Short course routes are ideal for those just getting into the sport and feature a slower pace with flatter terrain. Long course options tend to have a faster pace with more aggressive hill climbing. The short and long courses tend to overlap so you can "preview" the hills before you decide if you want to tackle them.

We discuss cycling safety issues, equipment suggestions and repair strategies. We don't expect people to ride in "pace lines" or "draft lines". We do discuss the technique and etiquette of riding in groups to help you safely prepare for the day you're riding with a few hundred, or a few thousand, of your closest cycling friends in a Charity Ride in Idaho or beyond.
